Delta region. We have so many maps now, we try to split them
into different pages, by years. Click on the map thumbnails to
see larger versions. Much of the last 150 years of California Delta
history can be quickly gleaned by review of the maps over time.
More maps and links added 2-9-2010 Maps were found online or
in old books, then scanned and cropped to show the Delta area only.
When available, the original map author or surveyor and its original
publication date are provided. It has been assumed all these
older maps are out of copyright term, and this information is
provided for educational purposes as it is. By using the map
information, you may be able to research online to find full
versions of the maps. We also suggest you go to the Rio Vista
Museum, as it has several great maps in frames on the walls!
You might also want to check with the California & Sacramento Historical Society,
the Dutra Dredge Museum, and the Delta King, a floating paddle
wheeler located at the Old Sacramento waterfront. |
