As the CALFED 2000 central conveyance
expansion is being built in the Delta, one has
to wonder just how much water will be left in
the Delta when its all completed, especially
since so many
NEW WATER INTAKES ON THE SACRAMENTO have been
built north of the Delta which results in less
overall Delta inflow.
Look at the summary map above and the map below from
DRMS/CALFED and notice the pathway of the levee
repair sites proposed. Note that the soils for the
widening of the levee will come from deepening the
nearby channel, thereby allowing more and faster
transport of Sacramento River water to the
export pumps in the South Delta area.
